Felt as postmaster and closed on November 21, 1860. The Village of Lennon lies partially within the township on its western border. Voters approved a 1-mill tax in December 2002 to establish a township police department. A successful recall in 2009 removed township supervisor Bruce Beatty and two trustees. On December 15, 2017 the township began receiving Karegnondi Water Authority water.
Local economy. Historically a farming township that has transformed into a suburban bedroom community of subdivisions on the west side of the Flint metro area. Local government services include a township-run police department (established by the 2002 millage) and a fire arrangement cooperating with Swartz Creek.
