Web Design for Beaumont, California
Beaumont sits atop the San Gorgonio Pass between the San Bernardino and San Jacinto mountains, a former railroad rest stop and apple-orchard town that became one of California's fastest-growing cities. Cheap land and freeway access off Interstate 10 turned it into a booming commuter and distribution hub, quadrupling its population since 2000. It still celebrates its farming roots each spring at the century-old Beaumont Cherry Festival.

About Beaumont
Also known as. Name means 'Beautiful Mountain' in French, chosen for the view of Mount San Jacinto. The Land of the Big Red Apple (historic, from its 1930s apple-orchard era).
History. The San Gorgonio Pass was first surveyed in 1853, and the Southern Pacific Railroad set up Summit Station in 1875 as a rest stop for travelers crossing to the desert. A real estate company platted the town of San Gorgonio in 1884; it was renamed Beaumont in 1887 by Henry C. Sigler, president of the Southern California Investment Company, for 'beautiful mountain.' Beaumont incorporated on November 18, 1912. By 1930 apple orchards were a major local industry, earning the area the label 'the land of the big red apple.'
Local economy. Beaumont was among California's fastest-growing cities: population jumped from 11,384 (2000) to 36,877 (2010), a 223.9% rise, then to 53,311 (2020) and roughly 62,597 by 2026. It sits in Riverside County, one of California's fastest-growing large counties, and draws residents priced out of nearby Los Angeles and Orange counties. Big-box and chain retail cluster at the 2nd Street Marketplace along the Interstate 10 corridor; the Beaumont Unified School District is among the city's largest employers. Available freeway-frontage and industrial land have positioned the Pass as a logistics and distribution corridor.
Culture and community. The Beaumont Cherry Festival, established in 1918, is the city's largest annual event and marked its 100th anniversary in 2018, featuring a parade and fair. Highland Springs Resort, established in 1884, hosts a lavender farm with an annual Lavender Festival in June and an Olive & Wine Faire in October. Nearby Cherry Valley, just west of the city, gave the region its cherry-growing heritage. Two golf courses, Tukwet Canyon and Oak Valley, serve area recreation.
What makes Beaumont distinct. In 2016, seven former Beaumont city officials were charged with corruption for allegedly stealing nearly $43 million over roughly three decades; all seven pleaded guilty in 2017-2018. Despite the Cherry Festival's fame, cherry cultivation in Riverside County has shrunk to only about 10 acres. The city's population is roughly four times what it was in 2000, one of the steepest growth curves in the state.
Beaumont is a fast-growing residential city in the San Gorgonio Pass of Riverside County, filled with master-planned communities and known for cooler pass-area weather.
