Enterprise Automation and AI Systems, Beyond the Website
AppWT builds the systems behind a website as well as the website itself. That covers robot vision, AI-assisted robot programming, legacy system integration, process automation, bot and fraud detection infrastructure, custom APIs and SaaS, AI agents and payment integration. Each area below links to the page that carries the detail.
Who this page is written for
Operations, engineering and IT leaders whose next project touches equipment, an older system of record, or money moving between systems. In that kind of work a wrong change costs more than a slow one, so this page shows how AppWT works as well as what it builds.
Eight areas of automation work
-
Robotics vision
A CAD file and a camera in the work cell, turned into the position and orientation of a real part relative to the robot. AppWT scopes this in stages and proves each stage with a measurement on the client's own parts before the next stage starts.
-
AI-assisted robot programming
Teach pendant programming is the slow, expensive part of a new cell. The AI drafts a structured plan from a library of proven routines, a deterministic compiler writes the program in the robot vendor's own format, a simulated check runs, and a person confirms the result.
-
Industrial automation and legacy system integration
Many plants run an ERP or production system that predates modern APIs. AppWT reads from a database view or a scheduled export and works read only by default, with no write-back, no schema change and nothing installed on the host. The existing system stays the system of record.
-
Process automation
Lead routing, follow-up, document handling, scheduled reports and alerts, built as code the client owns instead of another monthly subscription. Every data feed gets a failure alert, because a feed that stops silently is worse than having no feed at all.
-
Bot and fraud detection systems
Serverless functions, API gateways, and GraphQL over distributed SQL, built inside the client's own cloud account. Schema changes go through the API layer so the API and the database cannot drift apart. The current engagement is under a mutual NDA, so the client appears below by city and line of business only.
-
Custom APIs and SaaS
APIs, webhooks, customer portals and subscription billing written in PHP, JavaScript and SQL. AppWT runs and bills its own software products on the same stack, so a buyer can inspect a working product instead of a slide.
-
AI agents and chatbots
On-site AI chat, AI phone answering and automated outbound calling, set up to hand a conversation to a person with the context attached. AppWT designs agents to draft, answer and route, and keeps a person or a fixed rule in charge of anything that moves money or changes a record.
-
Payment integrations
Card terminals through a merchant services referral partner, Shift4 point of sale, Stripe, PayPal and custom payment APIs. Fulfillment runs only after the payment clears, is keyed to the payment itself and happens exactly once. AppWT does not process payments, hold funds or quote rates.
Who this work has been for
Every engagement here is listed with its city and its line of business. Two clients work with AppWT under non-disclosure agreements, so their names are withheld and only the city and the industry appear.
-
Enterprise SaaS platform, Miami, Florida (under NDA)
For an enterprise bot and fraud-detection SaaS platform in Miami, Florida, AppWT builds serverless functions and the GraphQL data layer inside that client's own cloud account.
-
Industrial automation company, Georgetown, Kentucky (under NDA)
AppWT scoped two programs for an industrial automation company in Georgetown, Kentucky: a data feed from its Epicor ERP system and an online product configurator.
-
The Barbat Organization, Birmingham, Michigan
The Barbat Organization in Birmingham, Michigan works in commercial real estate development, Shell gas station convenience stores and petroleum wholesale. AppWT's work for the company is AI integration for its daily operations.
-
Advanced Robotic Solutions (ARSRobots), Shelby Township, Michigan
Advanced Robotic Solutions provides robotic integration and automation support to manufacturers from Shelby Township, Michigan, and AppWT rebuilt and now hosts its website.
-
Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan
In higher education, AppWT works with Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
How the work is run
-
Read only comes first
A new integration starts by reading, never by writing. Write access is added only when a written scope names it, and some systems never get it.
-
The AI drafts, something reliable decides
Language models draft plans, text and code. A deterministic step, a validation check or a person decides what actually runs.
-
Measured before and after
An improvement is measured with the same instrument before and after the change, in the same run, so the difference can be attributed to the change.
-
Three matching runs before done
A change is called done only after the three most recent consecutive checks all pass and return the same result. One green run is a sample, not a measurement.
-
Every stage approved separately
Each stage is approved in writing before it starts. Stopping after any stage leaves the client owning something that works.
-
The client's systems stay the client's
Compute and data stay in the client's own accounts. AppWT works inside those accounts instead of copying the systems out to its own.
Who does the work
AppWT is founder led and deliberately lean. This is the structure behind every engagement on this page.
-
3
Managers
Tony Paris, Emily Paris and Michael Allison.
-
5
Team leaders
Five people in team leadership roles, working under the three managers.
-
24
AI automation agents
Software agents that AppWT runs to do defined, repeatable parts of the work. They are automation, not staff.
-
400+
Vetted independent contractors
A network of independent (1099) contractors, most of them in the USA, vetted before they are assigned to client work.
Straight answers
Does AppWT only build websites?
No. Websites are the visible part of the work. The systems behind them, including robot vision, legacy system integration, process automation, detection infrastructure, APIs, AI agents and payments, are delivered by the same team.
Can AppWT connect to an older ERP that has no API?
Usually, yes, by reading a database view or a scheduled export file. AppWT works read only by default and will not quote direct database writes into a production system that has no supported write path.
Will an AI system control our equipment?
No. The AI drafts a structured plan. A deterministic compiler writes the program, a validator and a simulated check run next, and a person confirms the result.
Who will actually work on our project?
AppWT runs engagements through its three managers and five team leaders, with vetted independent contractors and AI automation agents handling defined parts of the work. The scoping call names who is assigned to each part.
Why are two of the clients on this page not named?
Those two engagements are covered by mutual non-disclosure agreements, so the page gives only their city and line of business. References can be arranged during a scoping call.
How is enterprise automation priced?
After a scoping call, as a written scope with each stage priced and approved separately. No price is published here, because a number that does not know the scope will be wrong.
Scope the first stage
One call to name the system, the data it holds and the deadline. AppWT comes back with a written scope, priced stage by stage, and a list of what it found.
