Leominster is a former mill city in Worcester County that turned combs and celluloid into an entire plastics empire, earning it the title 'Pioneer Plastics City.' It is the birthplace of John Chapman (Johnny Appleseed) and, fittingly for a plastics town, the birthplace of the pink plastic lawn flamingo. Set along the Nashua River and Monoosnoc Brook between Routes 2 and I-190, it blends deep manufacturing roots with New England common-and-square charm.
