More About Justin

Town lots owned by Chet Helm and a man named Riley went on sale in 1883.

The post office, requested in 1887, was named for Justin Sherman, chief engineer of the Santa Fe line, and not for the boot company.

The new Santa Fe tracks from Fort Worth to Purcell, Oklahoma, drew residents from nearby Roanoke, Elizabeth and Drop.

Grain elevators, frozen-food lockers and paved roads later made Justin a shipping point for farm goods.

Justin incorporated in 1947.

It sits at Farm roads 407 and 156, about five miles northwest of Grapevine Lake.

Students attend Northwest ISD schools, including Justin Elementary and Northwest High School.
