Working in Clawson

• Walkable downtown along Rochester Road and 14 Mile anchored by independent restaurants, cafes and specialty retail.
• Originally known as 'Pumachug' and 'The Corners' — the name imitated the 'pum-a-chug, pum-a-chug' sound of a cider mill and saw mill running at the main intersection.
• The name 'Clawson' comes from a misspelling of the surname of early settler John C. Lawson.
• Leon & Lulu — a furniture and lifestyle store set in the historic Ambassador Roller Rink; it still displays roller skates, floor practice marks, a hockey scoreboard and old trophies.
• Clawson Theater (1941), now home to Three Cats Restaurant.
