About Visalia, California

Visalia is the county seat of Tulare County and one of the oldest towns in California's San Joaquin Valley, founded in 1852 and continuously inhabited ever since. Ringed by some of the most productive farmland in the nation, it markets itself as the 'Gateway to the Sequoias' for its role as the closest city to Sequoia National Park via Highway 198. A walkable downtown, the restored Fox Theatre, and the Visalia Rawhide baseball team give the agricultural hub a lively civic center.
