About Livermore, Kentucky
Livermore is a home rule-class city at the confluence of the Green and Rough rivers in McLean County, Kentucky, and its 2020 census population was 1,230, down from 1,365 in 2010. It belongs to the Owensboro metropolitan area. The city sits in the eastern part of the county on the north side of both rivers, with Ohio County immediately south across the Rough. U.S. Route 431 runs through the eastern side as Henton Street, twenty miles north to Owensboro and fifteen south to Central City, and Kentucky Route 136 crosses the northern part, nine miles west to the county seat at Calhoun and fourteen east to Hartford. Elevation is given as 124 meters and 407 feet, which agree, with ZIP code 42352, area code 270, FIPS code 21-47062 and GNIS identifier 0496908, in Central Time. Two features stand out. The bridge that carries US 431 south out of the city is claimed to be unique in the world for what it crosses, and the town's population has fallen at every census since 1980.
