Hillman is a village on the Thunder Bay River in eastern Montmorency County, Michigan, with a small portion extending east into Alpena County. The 2020 census counted 605 residents across about 1.70 square miles. It is 15 miles east-northeast of Atlanta and 23 miles west of Alpena, and it serves as the retail, school and health-services center for a rural resort and recreation area.

- Hillman was the county seat of Montmorency County from 1881 until the county seat was moved to Atlanta in 1891.
- The village was settled in 1880 and incorporated in 1891.
- Population ran 253 in 1900, dipped to 289 in 1930, and climbed from 373 in 1980 to 643 in 1990. It peaked at 701 in 2010 and stood at 605 in 2020.
