The Owosso Township Economy
- Before January 22, 1864 the Detroit and Milwaukee Railroad ran through the west of the township and opened a station named Mungerville, where a post office opened on that date under postmaster Philander Munger; the office was renamed Burton in 1878 and closed on January 31, 1936. A second rail presence survives at Smith Crossing, on the Great Lakes Central Railroad line. Road access is by M-21 and M-52, and the Owosso Community Airport lies just east in Caledonia Township rather than within Owosso Township itself.
