About Harrison, Ohio
Harrison sits in western Hamilton County and was laid out in 1810, taking its name from William Henry Harrison, who later served as the country's ninth president. The American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute, a trade association for the watch industry, has its headquarters in the city, and the Orville R. Hagans History of Time Museum is located at the institute's headquarters. Among the historic sites nearby is the Eighteen Mile House, a building that went up early in the nineteenth century. Harrison Village Park is the resting place of a small number of Revolutionary War veterans, with a bandstand from the early 1930s at its center, and the city borders Miami Whitewater Forest, which is the biggest of all Great Parks of Hamilton County sites.
