About Isle Saint George, Ohio
Isle St. George is North Bass Island, the northernmost and least developed of the Bass Islands, part of Put-in-Bay Township in Ottawa County. No ferry runs there, so visitors come by airplane or by private or chartered boat.
History of Isle Saint George
- In 2004 the State of Ohio bought 87 percent of the island to keep it from being developed.
- The entire island is the Isle St. George viticultural area, a federally recognized wine-grape growing region.
