More About Loveland
The city is named for James Loveland, who ran a general store and post office near the downtown railroad tracks.
It was incorporated as a village in 1876 and became a chartered city in 1961.
Colonel Thomas Paxton first settled the area in 1795, buying 1,200 acres where the city now stands.
Loveland sits near exit 52 of Interstate 275, about 15 miles northeast of Cincinnati.
In its early days it was known as a resort town.
