I explain why a one-page demo script wins attention at events. I give exact steps, sample lines, a delivery checklist, and a follow up timeline that respects consent.
Why this matters
A one-page demo script gives you a simple opening, proof, and close you can memorize. Events move fast, and short attention favors clear words and a steady flow. One page prevents rambling, keeps privacy in view, and makes follow up consistent.
The demo page
Build three short blocks on a single sheet. Write for one audience and one use case, and keep it in plain language. Use these exact pieces.
- Opening. Say who you help, the problem you solve, and the outcome in simple terms. Example: I help operations managers reduce rework with a traceable parts process. May I show you in one minute.
- Proof. Show a quick demo, sample, or mini case from the same industry. Describe the situation, the action you took, and the result without numbers or client names.
- Close. Offer two next steps. Example: Scan this QR to a short form, or I can text or email a summary with your consent.
Include the exact consent line you will use for texting and email. Say what they agree to, how often you will contact them, and how to stop. Confirm specifics with your attorney or compliance advisor.
Delivery checklist
- Print the script on a half sheet in large type, and keep a clean copy at the booth.
- Rehearse it out loud ten times before the event, and time yourself to stay concise.
- Use a simple form on a tablet or phone in kiosk mode, which means the device shows one screen only.
- Make the consent checkbox required, and show your privacy note in plain language.
- Mark each lead with the next step before the person walks away.
Follow up timeline
- Same day. Send the promised summary and a thank you. For texts, include how to stop future messages.
- Next business day. Offer two time options for a short call or deeper demo.
- End of week. Send a helpful resource related to their use case, not a pitch.
- Two weeks later. If no reply, send one last check in, then move them to a nurture list.
