**This Week in Web and AI** Google took a step that small business owners have been waiting for since AI Overviews launched in 2024. On June 3, 2026, Google launched generative AI performance reports in Search Console, providing impression data for AI Overviews, AI Mode, and Discover. This matters because, until now, there was no way to tell whether your website was being cited inside AI-generated answers at all. The new reports isolate impressions from AI Overviews, AI Mode, and generative AI features in Discover for the first time, broken down by page, country, device, and date. One limitation to note: the reports show impressions only -- there is no click, CTR, or query data yet, so you can see visibility but not its traffic value. This connects directly to a broader shift happening right now. Search is now split across two layers: classic search results where pages compete for clicks, and AI-generated answer environments where systems synthesize, quote, cite, and compress information before a user visits a site. Many businesses still measure success with old metrics alone, looking at rank position and organic traffic, but missing the question of whether their content is being used as source material by AI systems. **Tip You Can Use Today** Check your Search Console account this week to see whether you have access to the new Generative AI performance report. The report is available within Google Search Console, under dedicated sections for Search and Discover performance, and covers how often your website URLs appear within AI-powered features including AI Overviews, AI Mode on Search, and generative AI features on Discover. Here is how to get started: - Log in at search.google.com/search-console and select your property. - Look for a "Generative AI" section in the left-hand performance menu. - Filter the data by page, country, device, and date to find which specific URLs are showing up inside AI results. - Compare your top AI-visible pages against your standard organic traffic to spot gaps. - Strengthen pages that are not appearing by cleaning up sitemaps, tightening internal links, improving headings, and adding short answer-style content blocks. The report is still in a phased rollout and is not yet available to all properties, so if you do not see it today, check back weekly. The data will be there soon, and you want a baseline the moment it arrives. **Tool Worth Knowing** Notion AI 2.5 is worth adding to your workflow if your team already uses Notion as a shared workspace. Notion's AI integration received a major update in July that substantially improves its ability to work across the full workspace rather than within single pages, and the new version can pull context from linked databases, attached documents, and calendar entries to give contextually accurate responses. For a small business owner, that means you can ask questions about a client project and get an answer that draws from your notes, your calendar, and your attached files simultaneously. For teams already using Notion as their knowledge base, this update makes the AI genuinely useful for cross-project research. Notion's Business plan, which includes AI, is priced at $20 per member per month on annual billing. **Talk to AppWT** If you logged into Search Console this week and the AI visibility data raised more questions than answers, AppWT can help you act on it.
