About Waterford Township, Michigan

Waterford Township is an Oakland County suburb about 30 miles northwest of downtown Detroit, defined by its water: 34 named lakes ripple across the township, including Cass Lake, the county's largest and deepest. Settled by pioneers who dammed the Clinton River and built the first sawmill, Waterford blends lake-country recreation with suburban Detroit life. Its schools and civic identity nod to the region's automotive roots.
