History of Langhorne

• It was renamed after Jeremiah Langhorne, a Quaker who settled in Bucks County in 1684, purchased 7,200 acres in 1724, joined the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 1726, and served as chief justice from 1739 until his death in 1742.
