Why AppWT for Texas
Texas covers more ground and more industries than most countries, so a Texas site has to be clear about who it serves and where. AppWT has no Texas office. It works with Texas clients from Livonia, Michigan, and travels to Texas clients on request, by car or by air.
AppWT's Texas client work is in the Lake Travis area, in Spicewood and Lakeway. For Austin Lakeside Properties in Spicewood, AppWT built and hosts laketravisluxuryco.com and connected it to a lead pipeline in the AppWT CRM. For Austin Lakeside Boat & RV Storage in Spicewood, AppWT ran an SEO and AI visibility audit, measured it again a week later and delivered twelve blog topics. West Austin Air Conditioning in Lakeway became an AppWT client in September 2026. The full account, with dates, is on the Texas client work case study.
Texas, in Brief
The Census Bureau estimated 31,290,831 Texans on July 1, 2024, up from a 2020 base of 29,149,458. Austin is the capital, and the state borders Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico, with the Rio Grande, the largest of its 15 major rivers, along the border with Mexico. Texas has led the country in state export revenue since 2002, and its leading industries include tourism, agriculture, petrochemicals, energy, computers and electronics, aerospace and biomedical sciences. Guadalupe Peak tops out at 8,751 feet, and Big Bend National Park and Palo Duro Canyon mark the western and northern landscapes.
Texas-Sized, in Its Own Words
Before European contact, Texas sat between the Southwestern and Plains culture areas. The Caddo farmed and built mounds in the northeast along the Red, Sabine and Neches rivers, Apache peoples ranged the interior, the Karankawa lived on the central coast and Puebloan and Jumano peoples lived near the Rio Grande in the west.
Texas culture blends Southern, Western and Southwestern influences, which the record says the breakfast burrito sums up. Chili is the state food and rodeo the state sport. The slogan Don't Mess with Texas began in 1985 as an anti-litter campaign for the state transportation department. Texas was the largest state until Alaska joined in 1959, and the phrase everything is bigger in Texas has been in use since at least 1950.
- Big Bend National Park and Palo Duro Canyon
- Guadalupe Peak, the high point at 8,751 feet
- The Rio Grande, the Red River and the Sabine River as borders
- The Llano Estacado, the Caprock Escarpment and the Hill Country
A Lake Travis property firm, a Houston supplier and a San Antonio retailer search in different ways, and their sites should reflect that.
Cattle, Oil and Everything Since
Bison, cattle, cotton, oil and timber shaped Texas before World War II, and the Spindletop discovery set off an oil boom that drove much of the 20th century. Texas had 52 Fortune 500 headquarters in 2024, second only to California, and small businesses made up 99.8 percent of firms. It is one of seven states without a state income tax.
- Texas has the most farms and the most farm acreage in the country.
- It ranks first for livestock revenue and second for total farm revenue, behind California.
- Beef cattle is the largest single farm segment, followed by cotton, greenhouse and nursery, broilers and dairy.
- Small businesses grew 24 percent in number between 2017 and 2022.
