I show you a simple ten minute meeting to turn the digest into actions. Use the checklist to pick items, assign owners, set next steps, and close the loop.
Run a ten minute briefing
Use this ten minute briefing to turn each digest issue into clear actions. I run the same outline every time so everyone knows the pace and what to bring.
Plan two minutes to set context, six minutes to assign owners and next steps, and two minutes to recap. Keep it on the rails by stopping side conversations and parking rabbit trails. Use the same template each time so trends and blockers show up fast.
Before the meeting
- Skim the issue and star up to three items. Focus keeps the meeting short.
- Paste item titles into a short agenda. People see what is on deck.
- Choose a default owner by item type. Faster assignment reduces debate.
- Open your task system and project board. Capture actions while people are present.
- Set a visible ten minute timer. A clear stop pushes crisp decisions.
Run the meeting
- State the outcome you want for this meeting. People know whether to plan, decide or research.
- Give one minute per item on why it matters. Relevance earns buy in.
- Name one owner aloud. One name avoids confusion.
- Write the next observable step. Starts with a verb and can be done in one sitting.
- Add a date and a check in place. Deadlines and where to report cut chasing.
- List any risk or dependency. Surprises show up early.
- Decide what to ignore this cycle. Saying no protects focus.
- Park long debates. Create a follow up task outside this meeting.
- Send a three line recap. Owners, next steps, and dates.
- Tag the tasks as digest. You can group and review them later.
- Book a five minute review next time. Close the loop and clear blockers.
- Assign a quick check in AppWT Analytics when an item affects visibility. It shows AI referrals and conversions so you spot impact sooner.
